Your clips. Your music. An edit cut to the beat.

AMV Editor is a Windows desktop app that analyses a song and your footage, then assembles an edit synced to the music. You review it, adjust it shot by shot, and export.

  • Anime edits first
  • Runs locally on an NVIDIA GPU
  • Not available for download yet
  • macOS, iOS and Android planned

A look at the app

How it works

From sources to export in four steps

Add sources and music Working

  • Local files, or a YouTube or MEGA link.
  • Optional: a reference edit, to follow its cut timing.
  • Use footage and music you have the right to use.

Features

What the engine does today, and what is coming

Every feature below exists in the code or on the roadmap. The labels show where each one stands.

  • Working

    Music analysis

Beats, downbeats and drops detected locally, with the vocals, drums and bass separated first.

  • Working

    Moment selection

Each shot is scored for motion, framing, readability and intensity, then matched to what the music asks for.

  • Working

    Musical sync

Cuts land on beats, the strongest action goes to the drop, and the music never shifts.

  • Working

    Transitions

Zoom, whip, spin, slash, luma, light leak and more, placed on musical events.

  • Working

    In-shot effects

Punch, shake, RGB split, glow, lens and depth parallax, with intensity driven by the song.

  • Working

    Smooth slow motion

Speed ramps with AI frame interpolation, used only on slowed shots, never to fake frame rate.

  • Working

    Scene order

Group shots by character and follow the source's chronology, or let the engine choose freely.

  • Working

    Follow a reference edit

Give it an edit you are allowed to study, and it reuses that edit's cut timing and effects with your footage.

  • Working

    Checked exports

9:16 or 16:9 output. Each render is checked for size, frame count and audio before it is saved.

  • Beta

    Built-in editor

Replace clips, move cuts, adjust effects, transitions and grading, add text, images and video. Changes can be undone.

  • Beta

    AI suggestions

Ranked replacement clips, resync to the beat and clean-up passes. Always proposals you accept or reject.

  • In development

    Cinematic, landscape and film profiles

Implemented, with their own pacing and looks. Testing on live-action footage is still to come.

  • In development

    TikTok publishing

Built on TikTok's official API and tested against a simulator. Not tried on a real account yet.

  • In development

    4K export

Available in the export settings, not fully validated yet.

  • Planned

    Audio and sound-effect tracks

Layer sound effects over the music inside the editor.

  • Planned

    Keyframed overlays

Animate text and overlays over time. Today they only fade in and out.

  • Planned

    Text animation presets

Ready-made title and caption animations, on top of today's fonts, outlines and shadows.

  • Planned

    macOS, iOS and Android

Planned after the Windows release, with no date yet. The engine relies on NVIDIA GPUs today, so each platform needs its own engine work, and features may differ on phones.

Samples

Rendered by the engine

Short clips of individual transitions and effects, rendered by AMV Editor on synthetic test scenes. They are building blocks, not finished edits.

Development

Where the project stands

Priorities, not promises. No release date has been set.

  1. Now

    • Polish the editor and prepare it for outside testers
    • Test the cinematic and film profiles on live-action footage
    • Licence checks on every bundled component
  2. Next

    • Signed Windows installer, re-tested on a clean PC
    • A private beta with a small group of testers
    • TikTok publishing tested on a real account
  3. Later

    • Public release
    • Sound-effect tracks and keyframed overlays in the editor
    • Better character recognition for scene order
    • Versions for macOS, then iOS and Android

Straight answers

Can I download AMV Editor?

Not yet. It is in active development and only runs in development builds for now.

What hardware does it need?

Windows and an NVIDIA graphics card, because the engine runs on your GPU. It has only been tested on one high-end laptop so far, so final requirements are not set.

Will it come to Mac, iPhone or Android?

That is the plan, after the Windows version, with no date yet. The engine currently runs on NVIDIA graphics cards, so each platform needs dedicated work. Phone versions may offer a different set of features than the desktop app.

Is the generated edit ready to post?

Sometimes, but not always. Results depend on your footage and your song, so review every edit and adjust it in the editor if needed.

Will quality hold up on TikTok or Instagram?

AMV Editor exports at high quality, but social platforms re-encode every upload. What viewers see depends on each platform.

What content can I use?

Footage and music you have the right to use. The app asks you to confirm this when you add sources.
